Position involves process research and scale-up. The candidate will
collaborate with the research chemists engaged in new products
and process development and work closely with Process and
Separations group personnel. The candidate will obtain the
required thermodynamic, kinetic and other relevant data to
conceptualize and recommend various unit-operations and unit -processes
for process scale-up.
Scale-up of bench top processes to kilogram quantities may be required.
This position requires a good mix of hands-on experimental and theoretical
(chemical engineering science) skills. Process simulation skills will be a
plus. The candidate may also serve as a technical lead for gated projects.
This job also requires a strong commitment and compliance to safety, health
and environmental policies and procedures. Routine documentation of results,
protection of intellectual property and presentations on project status are
required. The candidate is also expected to generate new ideas for products
and processes, and identify opportunities for the growth of Company.
The candidate may also initiate and manage capital projects within the scope
of their assigned projects.

Qualifications: Minimum Requirements

The position requires an advanced degree in Chemical Engineering ( a Ph.D.
is preferred) with minimum10 years of R&D, pilot-plant or related

Technology Manager - Gas

POSITION SUMMARY
The primary responsibility and function of this position will be for a full range of gas process design and applications in a process / applications engineering capacity. Main duties will focus on technologies and products relating to upstream gas processing, including process simulations and modeling. The responsibilities also include the coordination of proposals, from specifications review, process simulation and design, PFD and P&ID definition, and cost compilation, to proposal writing, preparation, and submittal. This position requires internal communication with and support to sales, projects, and operations groups and external communication with technical specialists of oil & gas and engineering clients, including, but not limited to, technical clarification, HAZOP, and internal and external training program development. Other areas of process simulation support may be required for all areas of process: gas, crude, water, and solids treatment systems. This position will also require travel on an as needed basis, 10-20% anticipated.

EDUCATION / TRAINING
BS Chemical Engineering
Process Simulation Experience & Expertise, i.e., Hysys, Hysim, ProMax, Pro II, etc.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
10-15 years related oil & gas process industry experience
Substantial gas processing experience; simulation & design, operations and business development of such
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Project
Permanent resident status or US citizen

    MAJOR DUTIES:  

    This position works directly for the Chief, Machinery Branch, in verifying compliance of proposed marine system designs with federal and international safety programs for commercial ships, mobile offshore drilling units and floating OCS facilities. This is accomplished through a detailed, comprehensive analysis of high pressure piping, pressure vessels, firefighting systems, shipboard propulsion, hydraulic steering and control, oil and chemical cargo handling, and auxiliary machinery systems.
